Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is in search for a new manager who could perform better than Zinedine Zidane, who surprisingly left Santiago Bernabeu five days after leading the club to third consecutive Champions League trophy.
The Israeli billionaire has been linked with numerous managers as he is in a desperate mission to hire a new boss before the start of the world cup which Kickstarts in six days time.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Chelsea’s want-away manager Antonio Conte and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochetino, who recently signed a new contract with the North London club, have all been tipped as the Frenchman’s probable replacement this summer.
The latest news in regards to Florentino’s search for new manager suggests that Manchester United manager José Mourinho is tipped as the favourite man to fill the vacuum created by Zidane’s departure.
According to Spanish media outlet OK Dairio, the Portuguese manager could be returning to Madrid, where he managed from 2010 – 2013.
Though Mourinho left Santiago Bernabeu due to some feud between him and his employers, Florentino believes the Red Devils manager is the best man for the job.
It was reported last month via The Telegraph that Mourinho could be heading out of Old Trafford in the summer due to the unwanted treatment he’s getting from the club’s hierarchy despite helping them to a Europa League trophy and a second-place finish in his first and second season at the Theater of Dreams respectively.
