Arsenal manager Unai Emery is desperately in move to upgrade his defensive unit before the upcoming season.
To achieve his mission for the upcoming season, the manager is monitoring some world-class defenders, hoping he could lure one or two defenders to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
However, Emery will be happy with the latest report about Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard, whom he has been targeting since his first week at the Emirates Stadium.
According to CalcioInsider via Daily Star, Pavard is ready to move to the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season.
The 22-year-old has reportedly revealed his desire to push a move through to the North London club after his blistering performance with the Bundesliga side helping the team to a seventh-place finish in the just-concluded season.
Calcioinside further reports that Stuttgart have placed a £44m price tag on the Frenchman’s signature but the Gunners are unwilling to spend such huge amount on a relatively unknown player.
It remains unknown if Emery would be able to convince the Arsenal’s hierarchy to get the player irrespective of Stuttgart’s asking price for his signature.
Should Pavard finally make his move to Arsenal, he would no doubt be a good signing for the Gunners, who seriously need to improve their defense before the start of next season.
