Manchester United have since been linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred but they are yet to capture his signature.
The delay in capturing his services has left Mourinho furious with the club’s sporting director Ed Woodward, according to reports.
The Portuguese manager, who is looking to sign world-class midfielders into his team this summer, is unhappy with the delay in reaching an agreement with Ukrainian Champions for the Brazilian player.
However, according to the Sun, Mourinho has ordered the team to ensure they complete Fred’s signature this week or they switch interest to another midfielder.
The Portuguese manager equally told Fred to sign for the Red Devils if he truly wants to be part of the team in the upcoming season.
The £53m-rated midfielder was in fine form for the Ukrainian Champions last season as he helped them to another League title.
Meanwhile, Mourinho also advised Woodward to fund a move for Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale in the summer.
It is believed that the Los Blancos are asking too much from the Old Trafford outfits before they could let go of the Welshman.
Despite Madrid’s huge price tag, the former Chelsea manager advised the sporting director to source for fund to enhance his chances of luring the former Tottenham player to the Theater of Dreams.
