Premier League giants Manchester United are on the verge of bringing Porto’s youngster Diogo Dalot as they have reached an agreement with the Portuguese League giants for his signature.
The Portugal international, who has featured for the country’s Under-21 side, was promoted to the club’s first-team squad in the start of the year and has gone on to featured in six matches.
According to Jason Burt, who works with the Telegraph, José Mourinho is ready to pay as high as €20m for the youngster’s signature in the summer.
Burt wrote on his verified Twitter account that the Red Devils are hoping to bolster their academy ahead of next season and they have agreed to meet Porto’s price tag on the player’s signature.
The youngster played as a right-back for Porto B team but he was converted to the left-back position in the main squad.
Dalot could easily be integrated into Mourinho’s first-team squad next season due to Luke Shaw’s proposed move out of Old Trafford in the summer.
Mourinho could also deploy his young compatriot at the right flank of the defence in the upcoming season, considering the fact that young is becoming too old to challenge young and agile strikers for the ball.
However, United will need to officially confirm his signature in time so as to avoid losing him to either Juventus, Napoli, Barcelona or Real Madrid, are all set to make a last-minute move for his signature in the summer the summer.
