Arsenal have been boosted in their shock move for Netherlands international youngster De Ligt, who currently plays for Ajax.

According to reports emanating from the Eredivisie club, the 18-year-old has told his teammates that he would be leaving by the close of the season after a successful spell at the Amsterdam Arena.

Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Tottenham and Arsenal are vying for the youngster’s signature as they all want to improve their respective attacking flare ahead of the upcoming season.

Ligt is one of the most in-form and regular players in Erik ten Hag’s team this season, he has started 39 matches for the Godenzonens in all competitions and that has endeared him to many European giants.

Ligt is known for his aerial ability and his ability to distribute the ball perfectly, he would be a perfect addition to the Gunners team who are also known for their high-passing style of football.

It remains unknown if the Eredivisie giants would grant the youngster the permission to discuss with his suitors over the possibility of leaving the club in the summer, considering how effective he has been with them this season.

Meanwhile, yesterday wasn’t a good night for Arsene Wenger in his last game for the Gunners as his men were thrashed 3-1 by Leicester City, who ended their five-game winless run.

The Foxes took the lead through Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal after a brilliant ball from Diabate in the 14th minutes.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the equalizing goal for the Gunners just before half-time but it wasn’t good enough to prevent them from losing as Arsenal target Ryad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy both found the back of the net to give the Foxes a deserved victory over 10-man Arsenal.
