Outgoing Premier League Champions Chelsea have reportedly joined the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona in the race for Atletico Madrid’s super striker Antoine Griezmann in the summer.

The France international has had a bittersweet performance this season but he is currently in top form and the Blues are impressed with his recent form for both club and country.

Griezmann was on fire for the Rojo Blancos in their Europa League semi-final clash against Arsenal last Thursday, he scored a vital away goal which could be enough to inspire his side to victory when they face in the reverse fixture on Friday.

Having seen the Frenchman’s exploits for Diego Simeone’s team this season, Chelsea believe he could be the best solution to their unproductivity in front of goal and according to Sport Witness, they are hoping Olivier Giroud could convince him to join them as they are close friends in the French national team.

Sport Witness also reported that Roman Abramovich is ready to release a whopping sum of £88million for his services in the summer but that seems to be too little to convince the Spanish side who had earlier rejected a £90m offer from Manchester United in the previous transfer market in January.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata could be allowed to join Juventus by the close of the season so as to create a vacuum which would be occupied by the Frenchman, should he decide to move out of the Wanda Metropolitano stadium .
