Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to leave the North London club by the end of the season after spending 22 years at the Emirates stadium.
There have been rumours that former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique could be Arsenal’s next manager after the Spaniard reportedly rejects the chance to become Chelsea’s next manager.
As for former Arsenal player Ray Parlour, Luis Enrique is not the perfect candidate to replace the Frenchman due to his temperament. The Arsenal legend who is now a pundit believes Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is the right manager who has all it takes to step into the position which would be vacated by Wenger.
Ray told Sky Sports that he believes the Newcastle manager is the best option available for the Gunners board of directors if they want to challenge for the League trophy next season.
According to him, the Gunners might wish to hire a young coach or an experienced manager but the best man for the job is the former Real Madrid manager.
Though Benitez spell at Santiago Bernabeu wasn’t a successful one, he might have learnt some vital lessons on how to successfully manage a team as huge as the Gunners.
The pundit believes Benitez will surely have lots to do if he is appointed as the Gunners boss.
Carlo Ancelotti, Luis Enrique have both been linked with a switch to the Emirates stadium as they are currently out of action.
