Manchester United target, Samuel Umtiti has officially confirmed that the Red Devils have made a request for his signature next summer.
The Barcelona defender, whose contract with the Blaugranas expires in 2020, has been in great form for the La Liga runaway leaders and he is being tracked by a host of European clubs including Manchester United.
The Frenchman joined Barcelona last season and has since established himself as a household name at the back for the Blaugrana.
While reacting to the rumor linking him to Manchester United, the 24-year-old admits that the Red Devils are desperate to lure him to Old Trafford in the summer but he remains focus on helping Barcelona clinch this season league trophy.
Umtiti also revealed that there are other clubs who could compete with the former Premier League Champions for his signature in the summer, though he failed to name the clubs.
According to Metro, the player who could move out of Camp Nou for as low as £52m, told reporters that his release clause is relatively low but that didn’t mean he would be happy to move out of the La Liga giants this summer.
Manchester United will be hoping to sign the Frenchman who has been impressive throughout this season, as Mourinho is reportedly set to make some changes to his defense line ahead of next season.
Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw are all set to move out of Old Trafford this summer due to less impressive performances throughout the season.
