Manchester United are reportedly ready to make a €48million offer for Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal in the summer according to German media outlet BILD.
The report also suggests that the Red Devils are also willing to pay him a €14.4 million as his seasonal salary.
The Chilean was earlier targeted by Manchester United in 2014 during his time at Juventus but he turned down the chance to move to Old Trafford.
Though José Mourinho was able to sign Sanchez from Arsenal, the Portuguese manager is set to reignite the club’s interest in the highly-rated midfielder when the next transfer market commences.
According to BILD, Mourinho could face a stiff competition from Chelsea who are keen on upgrading their attacking threat by bringing the Chile international to Stamford Bridge ahead of Mourinho’s side.
It’s believed that Antonio Conte will exploit his intimate relationship with the player in convincing him to sign for the Blues instead of the Red Devils.
It should be recalled that Conte and Vidal were at Juventus together before the Italian moved to Chelsea while the player switched to the Allianz Arena in the 2015-16 season.
Vidal’s contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in 2019 summer and he is making a decision not to renew it as he seems unhappy with Munich’s summer move for Leon Goretzka, who has reached an agreement with the club.
