Chelsea are considering a summer move for RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi as the 27-year-old continues to impress with the Bundesliga side.
There were rumours over the Blues’ first choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois during the January transfer window as he is being linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid according to ESPN.
Courtois, 25, has refused to extend his stay at the West London club and that could mean he is considering ending his long-term Chelsea career by the end of the season.
Chelsea are now in the market for a new goalkeeper who will serve as the Belgian’s replacement should he decide to move out of the club in the summer and ESPN suggest Antonio Conte is keeping a close tab on Peter Gulacsi.
Peter Gulacsi joined Liverpool on a permanent deal in 2008 after a year loan-spell at the Merseyside club but he was unable to make any first-team appearance for the Reds despite his immense talent.
After six years without a single appearance for the Reds, Gulacsi moved out of Liverpool in 2013 to join Red Bull Salzburg where he was given regular first-team action before he later switched to RB Leipzig last season.
The goalkeeper is in fine form for the Bundesliga club this season, he has conceded 34 goals in 26 league appearances so far this season.
The Hungary international is valued at £24million by RB Leipzig, he is also on Atletico Madrid and Arsenal’s radar according to ESPN.
