Premier League giants Liverpool are confident to beat Manchester United to the signature of Italy international midfielder Jorginho, who currently plays for Napoli.
The midfielder hasn’t been too impressive for the Serie A side as he has only managed just four goal and four assists in 29 appearances so far this season, but that didn’t take away his importance to the team who currently occupy the first position in the Serie A table.
According to reports, Liverpool could be Jorginho’s next destination as Jurgen Klopp seems to be leading the chase for his service ahead of Manchester United and their neighbours Manchester City.
United boss José Mourinho has been monitoring the player’s situation at Napoli since the last transaction period but he didn’t get his service. With Carrick set to retire while Fellaini and Herrera set to move to another club in the summer, the Portuguese manager is believed to step up his race to beat both Liverpool and City to Jorginho’s services in the summer.

Despite having one of the best midfield in the league, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is set to add the Italian to his team ahead of next season. The former Barcelona manager could make him his prime target in the summer after failing to get Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City.
Liverpool are up against Newcastle at Anfield on Saturday and the Merseyside must maintain their recent winning record against the Premier League strugglers.
