Chilean superstar Alexis Sanchez is finally a Manchester United player, after his swap deal which involved Henrikh Mkhitaryan going to Arsenal was confirmed.
The 29-year old has solved a major transfer issue for the Red Devils who were known to have wanted a marquee forward (preferably on the wings). His signing now enables the Premier League giants to flex their financial muscle elsewhere – fresh off being named the Richest Club in World Football for the tenth time.
Manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly now very keen on midfield signings especially considering the uncertainty around ‘favourite’ Marouane Fellaini and with Michael Carrick retiring at the end of this campaign.
The public opinion is Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba aside, there isn’t enough quality in the center of the park for United, which has seen them linked with quite a number of central midfielders in recent days.
Danilo Pereira of FC Porto, Julian Weigl of Borussia Dortmund, Fred of Shakhtar Donetsk and Jean-Michael Seri of Nice are believed to be on the midfield shortlist at Man United.
At the moment, 26-year old Ivory Coast international, Seri, who was close to joining Barcelona in the summer, is the name being thrown around most often in the press. The African star is also wanted by rivals Man City as with most of the others mentioned, which could make for another interesting transfer saga.
However, a January move for any of these stars could prove difficult with the transfer window days from being shut.
Arturo Vidal is one big name that has recently been thrown into the mix.
