Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly had to answer questions regarding his future with the club as a result of reports claiming that he is keen on a move away from the club.

The manager has often declared his commitment to the club and his desire to win trophies with them. Now according to reports Mourinho is close to signing a new deal with the Premier League giants. The reports say discussions regarding the new deal have been on for quite sometime with Ed Woodward (chief executive at Man united) pleased with the progress being made by the club since the Portuguese arrived.

The 54-year old signed for Man united in the summer of 2016 and won the EFL Cup, the Europa league as well as the FA community shield all in his first season.

The deal is set to be a 3-year extension with an increment on his reported £15 million a year salary.

Jose Mourinho ultimate goal at the moment is to win the Premier league title which would be his fourth and the 21st for the club. Although they are currently second on the table, Man united are 12 points behind rivals Man city and are believed to have given up on the league this season and are planning a better challenge next season.

Jose Mourinho might have suffered a lot of criticisms during his Man united tenure but they are very few managers better at the moment and this fact is clear to the board at the club hence their new deal offer.
