Manchester United are being reported as favourites to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez – who is intent on leaving North London this month – despite Chelsea registering a late interest for the 29-year old.
Arsenal’s preferred deal will see them get Man united’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a player + cash deal, a deal the Old Trafford club appears to be in line with, as the player has fallen down the pecking order at the club.
However, in a new twist in the already intriguing transfer saga (as if we haven’t had enough already), the 28-year old Armenian is believed to not fancy a move to the Emirates.
A report says Mkhitaryan does not intend on moving to a club in the situation that Arsenal presently find themselves.
Arsene Wenger’s team are sixth on the log, 8 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, which is their goal for the season – to finish in the top 4.
Also, Mkhitaryan is not pleased with the salary structure at the Emirates.
As far as we know the swap deal is not completely off the table as the Gunners try to convince the player of their terms and ambitions.
Meanwhile Man united are willing to make Alexis Sanchez their highest paid player with a weekly wage of over £350,000 – this has seen them jump in front of the queue.
We haven’t heard the last from this saga as we await further developments.
