The past few days have seen the Alexis Sanchez transfer saga take a new twist.
Manchester United have been reported as favourites to sign the Chilean after offering higher wages than their cross-town rivals Manchester City.
Now new reports say the Premier League leaders, City, have dropped out of the two-horse race to sign the Arsenal superstar. This according to the reports, is due to the fact that the player’s agent Fernando Felicevich, requested for a higher wage offer from the club.
Felicevich had been in talks with the Citizens since the summer with a £60m deal agreed upon, only for Arsenal to stop the deal due to their inability to sign a replacement.
His new request for an increase in wage offer did not go well with those in charge at Manchester City which has seen them drop their interest and give a clear running to their neighbours.
Other reports say the deal with Man United is closed to being announced for the 29-year old. There are others that say the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants Man United striker Anthony Martial in a player + cash deal.
Whatever the story is, the general gist is that Old Trafford seems the most likely destination for the Chilean international.
Alexis Sanchez is already being tipped as very good signing for the club if the deal goes through and could have an impact similar to those made by Eric Cantona in the past or more recently Robin Van Persie.
