Longtime Chelsea target Radja Naingollan is the subject of a €50 million bid from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande.

The combative Belgian has been a major part of the AS Roma team since signing for the club in 2014 from fellow Italian side Cagliari.

The player who has been a major target for Chelsea, as well as Manchester United, is now being courted by the Asian club.

Reports say an official bid of €50 million (£44m) has been made to Roma and that a January move is a possibility.

The 30-year old has not played for the Italian capital club since a video of him smoking and drinking on new Year’s day was discovered. This, however, can not be given as a serious reason for a move away since only one game has been played since then.

It is, however, being reported that a deal has been struck and that the player is set to leave the Italian club on a loan move this month which is to be made permanent in the summer and will earn about €12 million a year.

These reports will come as a major blow to Chelsea manager Antonio Conte who is believed to still have an interest in signing the Belgian and will most likely increase his frustrations at Stamford Bridge as regards failure to acquire his transfer targets.
