Napoli midfielder Jorginho could yet leave the Italian side this is according to his agent.
The Brazil-born Italian international has been linked with Man United and is viewed by the club as a ready-made replacement for veteran Michael Carrick – who is believed to be gearing up for retirement and has made just one appearance for the Red Devils.
Manager Jose Mourinho wants more creativity in the centre of the park and is looking at the 26-year old as well as Dortmund’s Julian Weigl.
Jorginho joined Napoli in 2014 from Verona in a co-ownership deal and has gone on to be an integral part of the club’s setup especially under boss Maurizio Sarri.
He was particularly impressive in a goal scoring display against Manchester City in the Champions League in November – which has seen his stock rise in Europe and has attracted a host of interested clubs especially Man united.
His agent Joao Santos, in a recent interview, has revealed that a move away from Naples is a possibility, especially in the summer.
“He is currently in Brazil and will return to Italy this weekend. When it comes to the January transfer window, we’re not talking about anything,” Joao Santos said. “In June, and this is true of all players, we’ll see what offers arrive.”
This comes has positive news for the Old Trafford club as they look to a have very busy summer transfer window.
