Arsenal are set to begin transfer talks with French side Bordeaux for the signing of their star winger Malcom.
The English have been linked with a major squad overhaul in recent days, with Alexis Sanchez said to be close to a deal with Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Malcom has now emerged as a possible replacement for the 28-year old Chilean international as they prepare for life without the former Barcelona star.
Malcom, 20, has been a revelation for Bordeaux this season despite his side’s low standing on the Ligue 1 table.
Arsenal are believed to be willing to go up to 50 million pounds for the youngster – who is also a target for fellow Premier League clubs Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners, however, according to reports are confident of beating their rivals to the services of the Brazil U20 star as they plan to move swiftly to start talks on Wednesday.
The uncertainty surrounding many stars at The Emirates has made the club desperate to get quality replacements in.
Malcom joined Bordeaux from Brazilian club Corinthians in 2016 – where he came through the ranks as a young boy – and as so far scored 18 times in 78 matches for the French club and is now highly regarded in Ligue 1.
It was reported that Malcom fancies a move to the Premier League and is already learning the language.
