Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has stated he would like to have Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a permanent deal with the club.
The 21-year old English midfielder joined Palace at the start of the season on a loan deal that will see the midfielder return back to Chelsea at the end of the season.
However, manager Hodgson has been pleased with the youngster’s performances for The Eagles and has revealed he is interested in signing the midfielder on a permanent basis.
“ Ruben Loftu Cheek is a player we had love to have at our club, we do not norture any doubt about that. But i had rather say it’s far too early to ask me suc a question,” Hodgson told the press.
He further highlighted the player’s quality and the possibility of a return after Chelsea’s signing of Ross Barkley during the week. He, however, confirmed that if the player becomes available Palace will make a move.
Chelsea’s signing of Ross Barkley and a potential move for Chilean Arturo Vidal could see the Loftus-Cheek become available in the summer which could also see Hodgson get his wish.
Loftus-Cheek has so far scored once and provided 2 assists in 16 Premier League appearances for The Eagles this season.
