The agent of Manchester United’s Italian fullback Matteo Darmian, Tullio Tinti has insisted that his client has not been put for sale by the club.
There have been numerous reports linking the Italian international with a move back to the Italian Serie A, with Napoli, Roma and Juventus all mentioned.
But his agent has seemingly put an end to this reports for now when he said;
“I have not received any phone calls from Roma for the player. There has been contact with other Serie A clubs, but not with Giallorossi. Right now, the guy is not for sale.”
These reports of a move to Rome were as a result of the fullback’s limited game time this season.
The 28-year old defender is not a favourite of Man United boss Jose Mourinho and has many only 4 appearances in the league this season. Although he has been heavily involved in the cup competitions, it is still regarded as not being good enough for a player who is a full-fledged Italy international with 36 caps under his belt.
Darmian joined Manchester United from Italian side Torino for an undisclosed fee believed to be close to ₤13 million and he is a product of the AC Milan youth system. He made 28 appearances in the Premier League for Man United under former boss Louis Van Gaal.
