Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has informed Spanish giants Real Madrid of his decision to remain at the club.
The 27-year old has been a target of the Madrid club for a while now and he was very close to moving to the club in 2015 but a late fax stopped the move from happening.
Manchester United had been bracing up for a mega bid from the European champions in the summer with club president Florentino Perez said to be very interested in bringing the Spaniard back to Madrid – as he came through the ranks at Atletico Madrid.
Reports from Spain however now suggest that De Gea is committed to the English giants.
The Spanish international has informed Real Madrid according to these reports that he feels valued at Man United and by manager Jose Mourinho and is keen to remain at the club.
The shot-stopper has been in inspired form this season with a number of breathtaking performances already for his side – the goalkeeper has kept 12 clean sheets in 22 appearances in the league.
Real Madrid are now expected to turn their attention to Chelsea’s Belgian goalkeeper – who is said to be interested in a move to the European giants.
Keylor Navas is the current No. 1 at The Bernabeu but does not appear to have the full backing of those higher up in the hierarchy despite manager Zinedine Zidane repeatedly expressing his satisfaction with the Costa Rican.
