Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted his side is not looking to sign Chelsea’s defender David Luiz.
The North London club along with other top Europeans club has been linked with a move for the Brazilian –who is reportedly set for a move away from Stamford Bridge in this winter’s transfer window.
However, the veteran manager – who recently set a new record for the number of matches managed in the Premier League, has denied these links and seemingly ruled his team out of a move for the player.
“I don’t want to talk about any names, but these reports are wrong,” Wenger said ahead of the clash between the two sides at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte recently stated that the 30-year old centre-back will be back to full fitness very soon and will be available for selection for his side’s FA cup tie away to Norwich City on Saturday.
There had been reports of a falling out being Conte and Luiz earlier in the season and reports of a pending exit from the club began to swirl.
The manager has repeatedly quelled these reports but the form of the Chelsea backline (especially Andreas Christensen) without Luiz and the Brazilian’s unwillingness to settle for a reduced role sees these rumours of an exit continue to make the rounds.

The West Londoners appealed to FIFA over the ruling but their appeal was thrown out thereby prompting them to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) with the ruling expected later this month.
