Premier League defending champions, Chelsea are set to resume their hunt for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
The Blues who on Saturday easily dispatched of Stoke City at Stamford Bridge were reported to have been close to securing a deal for the England international in the summer with a medical said to be almost underway before the midfielder opted to remain at Goodison Park.
According to latest reports, Antonio Conte’s side are set to make a new offer for the 24-year old as we move into the New Year and the January transfer market kicks off.
Barkley has 6 months left on his current contract with the Merseyside club and has done turned down several contract-renewal talks with the club.
The midfielder has not featured for Everton this season due to a hamstring injury but has been offered a way back into the playing squad by new manager Sam Allardyce as the club is still hopeful he will put pen to paper on a deal.
Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in signing the promising midfield star and are also gearing up for a January move.
It is still unknown if Everton will let the star midfield see out the end of his current deal or if they will cash in on him in the January window. The latter is however more likely.
