Watford Football Club is ready to compete for the services of Manchester United fullback Luke Shaw.

The defender has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window with Tottenham Hotspurs and Newcastle United registering their interests.

Watford have now been credited with an interest in signing Shaw also, as Marco Silva looks to bolster his squad after seeing their early season form wane in December.

The future of the 22-year old England international remains undecided, as he appeared to be certainly on his way out of the club a few weeks ago but has now returned to the fold with some impressive performances in recent weeks.

The left-back has struggled to impress Jose Mourinho since the manager took over at United and has since lost his place to the likes of Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo who have all taken turns at left-back.

Ashley Young is currently the first choice at the club but the injury to Antonio Valencia will most likely see the veteran Englishman move to the right providing an opportunity for Shaw to stake a claim for the left-back slot.

Man United have been linked with the likes of Danny Rose, Alex Sandro and Ryan Sessegnon, so we are all eager to see how this particular story unfolds.

Luke Shaw is still a favourite among fans of the club, with many still hoping he can live up to his massive potential.
