Chelsea defender Baba Rahman is working hard as he returns from a long term injury to be in contention for playing opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
The Ghanaian international has been out of action since February with knee ligament damage but has since returned to training in October.
It is known that manager Conte wants competition for Marcos Alonso at left wingback and has been chasing Brazilian Alex Sandro since the summer, but Juventus’ valuation of the player prevented a deal from being struck.
Rahman’s return from injury provides another option for the manager at the club as he has worked hard and is pushing for a chance to prove his fitness.
Even if he is under consideration at the club for a place in matchday squads particularly with the looming loan move for Kenedy to Newcastle United, the defender has potential suitors ready to take him on loan in January, with Everton, Monaco and Schalke all making their interests known.
The 23-year old signed for The Blues from Augsburg on a five-year deal in August 2015 making 15 league appearances for the club. A year later he was loaned to German side Schalke 04 where he made 21 appearances – including 13 in the Bundesliga – before getting the injury he has only just recovered from.
