Latest transfer rumours making the rounds say that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is interested in signing Russian midfielder Aleksandr Golovin from CSKA Moscow.

The performances in midfield for the Blues this season has not been at the level expected at the club, with summer signings Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko still finding their feet, another midfield signing is being considered with Everton midfielder Ross Barkley also targeted.

Reports say the Premier League champions aim to strengthen their midfield depth with the signing of the 21-year old Russian star, who is also being monitored by Barcelona and Arsenal.

The Premier League title appears to out of reach for the West London club as they sit in the third spot, 14 points behind leaders Manchester City but Conte still wants to fortify his squad in winter transfer window as he is believed to still have hopes of retaining his premier League crown even though he has publicly thrown in the towel.

Conte believes a few good signings in next month’s window will help their cause and is keen on Golovin joining the club and has ordered a bid – believed to be in the region of ₤15 million- to be made.

Golovin is highly rated in Russia with his rapid rise making him one of the most promising talents in Russian football. A Russian international since 2015 he is capable in central midfield and also on the left side of midfield as well as the No 10 role just behind the striker. He has received praise for his excellent technique and good passing ability.
