Pietro Pellegri is garnering a lot of attention in Serie A at the moment. The Genoa teen sensation is the joint youngest ever player to play in the Italian top division and also this season became the youngest player in Serie A history to score a brace when he scored twice in a 3-2 defeat to Lazio back in September.
The 16-year old striker is now a target for English giants Manchester United and Chelsea as he is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the Italian football scene.
Inter Milan and AC Milan have also been credited with making approaches for the youngster but have been rebuffed by Genoa, who as it seems are not ready to let go of their young jewel.
While interests from the Milan giants have cooled down in recent weeks, the English sides are only just registering theirs and with the vast development of young players in the English system, it is will difficult for Pietro and his dad Marco Pellegrini – who is the team administrator at Genoa- to turn down their approaches.
Beppe Riso, Pellegri’s agent, had earlier this season likened his client to Man United man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, describing the youngster as a powerful striker and one of the best young players in Europe..
The player on his part idolizes Ibrahimovic having said that to Mediaset Premium, working with the Swede icon might draw him towards making a move to Man united.
