According to transfer reports making the rounds, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has ordered the club to re-sign Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion.
The former Man United defender was sold by former boss Louis Van Gaal, but his performances for West Brom ever since have seen interests in the Northern Ireland international grow in recent times. Arsenal and Manchester City are two who have shown interest in the past with City failing with bids in the summer.
Mourinho is believed to have views regarding his sale from the club as a mistake by Van Gaal and is desperate to beat Arsenal and Man City to his signature.
It is believed both teams are looking to make bids for the current West Brom skipper in the January transfer window, and reports say United are ready to fight off competition from them.
Evans has been very impressive for both club and country and will be looking to continue his good form when United visit the Hawthorns on Sunday.
The defender came through the ranks at Old Trafford and went on to make 198 appearances for the club.
West Brom are said to be open to a sale if any club can match their ₤30 million valuation of their skipper.
Mourinho is believed to be in need of a new Center-back as Eric Bailly has been ruled out for the next 3 months and given the injury records of both Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
