The draw for England’s most prestigious football competition, the FA Cup was held on Monday evening and it has brought about some interesting fixtures.
As usual, the competition commenced earlier in the season but the Premier League and championship teams join in the third round.
Manchester United will be clear favourites when they play host to Championship side, Derby County at Old Trafford, as Chelsea who were finalists last time around travel to East Anglia to face another Championship team Norwich City at Carrow Road.
The standout tie of the round will come up at Anfield where Liverpool play host to local rivals Everton for what promises to be an interesting Merseyside derby.
Premier League leaders, Manchester City have been drawn against fellow Premier League side Burnley, who have been enjoying a very successful year so far in the league, this match comes up at the Etihad Stadium.
Holders Arsenal kick start their title defense away to Nottingham Forest, while their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs who have not been on the best of forms recently have a pretty straightforward tie at home to AFC Wimbledon.
All fixtures of the FA Cup third round will be played on the weekend of 6th January, 2018.
