Manchester United lost 1-0 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday – their second defeat this season in the premier league.
Few hours before the clash at West London, Manchester City thrashed Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to extend their lead at the top of the premier league table by eight points.
Hours later at Stamford Bridge, Antonio Conte’s side dominated the game and rightly deserved earning all three points from the meeting with Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho’s side, on the other hand, failed to create clear-cut chances, and they found it difficult to create anything whatsoever in the first half. The only time Courtois’ effort was tested was in the first 45 minutes when Lukaku shot at goal outside the box.
Armenian playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan performed badly in the game and was tagged the worst player on the pitch on that Sunday afternoon.
Mkhitaryan was completely clueless against the defending champions and could not find space nor create anything whatsoever in the attacking third.
Mourinho introduced Marouane Fellaini into the game in the second half, and the midfielder was able to make an impact with his limited chance.
But at the end Alvaro Morata’s header was enough to earn the victory for Chelsea.
Here are Manchester United player ratings against the blues.
