The premier league is back this weekend, and one of the games we are looking forward to is the clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge!
After losing 2-1 to Huddersfield Town, Jose Mourinho’s side were able to bounce back to winning ways by beating Swansea City in the League Cup before the 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
They also continued their impressive run by beating Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday night – and all attention is now towards the Chelsea game.
Last season, Man United were thrashed at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea when the West London club won the game with four goals.
This season however, Man United are stronger, and are currently leading Chelsea with 4 points on the premier league table.
And ahead of the premier league game, the good news for Man United fans is that Chelsea talented midfielder N’Golo Kante is not yet fully fit and is unlikely to feature in the meeting (via The Independent)
Kante played a pivotal role in helping Antonio Conte win the premier league trophy last season, and the Italian tactician has sorely missed the talented midfielder in his squad.
The former Leicester City man has not played since September after picking up an injury while playing for his country, and he is unlikely to be rushed back into the starting XI this weekend.
The France international was not available when Roma thrashed Chelsea on Tuesday night in the Champions League, and his absence this weekend will boost Man United’s chances of winning the game.
Why Sarri’s Juventus move could still happen
It has been suggested that there is a possibility of manager Maurizio Sarri moving away from the West London outfit Chelsea to join the Italian Serie A champions Juventus ahead of the coming season.
There are speculations that the Italian boss could be sacked by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as he is not convinced about his ability to deliver success while his relationship with the fans remains a major concern.
It is therefore claimed that Roman Abramovich will wait for the outcome of the Europa League finals before making a decision on the future of the former Napoli boss.
However, Maurizio Sarri has already been linked with a return to Italy as he is reportedly wanted by a number of clubs in the Serie A including AS Roma and Juventus.
Serie A champions Juventus’ manager Allegri has already declared his decision to leave the club and manager Maurizio is being linked with a switch which he has dismissed but there are feelers that the move could still happen if he lose his job with the Blues team.
It is therefore claimed that Maurizio Sarri has met with the criteria needed at the Old Lady and is tipped to succeed if handed the job but that will not happen should Chelsea decide to keep him for the coming season.
Although the performance of the Blues team was not convincing in the concluding season the Italian boss has managed to help the Blues team return to Champions League with a top-four finish.
Chelsea to pay £32 for this player who is not affected by ban
The West London outfit Chelsea have been handed a transfer ban that will stop them from registering new players for the next two transfer windows.
The Blues team went against the FIFA rule on signing foreign minors and that has attracted the ban.
This, therefore, means the West London outfit will not be able to register any new player as such, having new faces in the coming season aside American star Christian Pulisic whose deal has already been completed before the ban was placed.
However, Chelsea have got one Real Madrid player, Mateo Kovacic who could be available for them despite the transfer ban to bring in before the start of the season.
Mateo Kovacic registered as a loan player after spending some time at the Stamford Bridge and that is the only saving grace the Blues have got because they have an option of a permanent deal which is now being considered for activation.
However, in very clear terms, a permanent deal for Kovacic will not be affected by the FIFA ban that prevents Chelsea from signing players for the next two transfer windows.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic’s performance within his one-year loan spell at the Stamford Bridge remains an impressive one after playing 32 times in the Premier League.
Deal on!!! Chelsea suffer major blow, Cech plays down move
The West London outfit Chelsea have suffered a major blow in their bid to land Arsenal legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech as their sporting director ahead of the coming season.
Petr Cech has already announced his decision to quit active football at the end of the season with his next step yet to be known but will not happen until after he has played his last Arsenal game, the Europa League finals, against Chelsea later on Thursday.
It was earlier reported that the stopper has got an offer from Chelsea and Arsenal to take charge of the youth team but a report yesterday claims that the West London outfit are offering Petr Cech a sporting director role to have him return back to the Stamford Bridge.
However, the legendary stopper, who is one of the best the English Premier League has ever had refuted the claim that he would be joining Chelsea as their new reporting director.
According to him, no decision has been made, stressing that it would only happen after he has played his last Arsenal game.
Howbeit, Petr Cech seeks to leave the stage while the ovation is very high by lifting the Europa League title with the North London outfit Arsenal later on Thursday.
This big name linked with a move for Sarri’s job
Italian manager Maurizio Sarri is still unsafe as the West London outfit Chelsea boss with unending reports linking his job to others.
The former Napoli boss has not been on the good books of the Blues’ fans ever since he joined in the last summer transfer window especially as he failed to deliver a title yet despite sneaking into the top-four to secure qualification to the Champions League.
His relationship with the fans remains a major concern for the Blues owner Roman Abramovich who is reportedly considering to sack him after the Europa League clash against Arsenal later on Thursday.
However, out-going Italian manager Massimiliano Allegri is being linked with the job as he has already made it clear that he would move into management immediately with the next club.
Massimiliano Allegri made his decision to leave the Old Lady after his elimination from the Champions League by Ajax earlier on.
There is no doubt about his ability if Maurizio Sarri would be sacked as he helped the Italian outfit with five Serie A titles in addition to leading them to the finals of the Champions League for two years.
With Chelsea not being able to sign new players, it is yet to be seen if the Juventus boss will find it any easy making such a decision.
Sealed Deal!!! New face spotted at Chelsea’s training ground
The West London outfit Chelsea are already in the mood for Europa League finals against North London side Arsenal later on Thursday with training already heating up.
One thing that has caught attention from pictures made available from the training ground is the sight of American footballer Christian Pulisic which is a hope for the Blues team.
Christian Pulisic is only a new face at the Stanford Bridge but he had signed for the Blues in January and was allowed to spend the remainder of 2018/19 on loan at Borussia Dortmund, from where he was bought.
From every indication, the Blues team will not be allowed to bring in new players in the summer transfer window owing to the hammer on them by the world football governing body FIFA.
Chelsea have been accused of breaching transfer regulations with foreign minor deals and they are only left with the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
However, Christian Pulisic is expected to give a feel of Eden Hazard at the club as manager Maurizio Sarri is not sure the Belgium international can be replaced.
Howbeit, Christian Pulisic might be the only new face at the North London outfit if the transfer ban is not upturned.
Confirmed!!!! Chelsea star no longer leaving
It is now confirmed that the West London outfit Chelsea will not part ways with France international Olivier Giroud at the end of the season because he has already signed a contract extension with the Blues team.
This will lay to rest speculations surrounding the future of the former Arsenal forward at the club especially after he complained of not having enough playing time in the English Premier League, a report that has been dismissed by manager Maurizio Sarri.
However, reports claim that the World Cup winner has agreed on a deal after he was persuaded by the Blues team to wait as they will not be able to replace him as a result of the transfer ban.
The performance of the France international has not been convincing and it was expected that a new striker be brought in if not for the ban on the club.
Olivier Giroud total record for the club is just 17 goals in 62 appearances, with most of the goals coming as a substitute player but his Europa League record as a starter in this season has been better, having scored 10 goals in 13 and 3 assists.
Manager Maurizio Sarri will now be left with no choice than to bank on the former Arsenal man and the Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain to lead his attack on the coming season.
What is Chelsea’s hope? Transfer ban still standing
As it stands, the West London outfit Chelsea will still be unable to participate in the summer transfer window, owing to the transfer ban on the club.
The West London outfit are accused of breaching rules relating to the transfers of foreign minors, going by Article 19 of the Regulations on the Status and
Transfer of Players.
An attempt to have the ban appealed to world football’s governing body FIFA failed which makes the Court for Arbitration for Sports, CAS the next and only option available.
The hearing at CAS is yet to go down which keeps the Blues team in a very difficult situation to either indicate interest in a player or bargain for deals.
This, therefore, raises concerns of hope for the Blues team as it is not sure if they would be able to compete for titles in the coming season as well as handle the Champions League challenge.
What is more disturbing is that the Court of Arbitration for Sport has not received an appeal from Chelsea FC, according to claims by football.london.
With Eden Hazard set to leave the club, it would be unfortunate to learn that the West London outfit will not be able to replace him until after two windows.
Chelsea drop Luka Jovic interest for Ajax star
The English Premier League outfit Chelsea are set to drop their interest in German Bundesliga Luka Jovic as the summer transfer window approaches.
Reports claim that Luka Jovic has already agreed on a move to the Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid and could be set to leave the club as soon the summer window is opened.
Luka Jovic was able to give a good account of himself in the Europa League when the Frankfurt side faced Chelsea in the semi-finals and that was able to capture the attention of the Spanish side.
With Chelsea set to lose out on the Star Player, they are reportedly paying attention to Ajax star winger David Neres as an option for the next season.
However, it is yet to be seen if the West London outfit will be able to secure any player in this summer transfer window as a result of the transfer ban which has not been lifted.
The Blues seem positive that the transfer ban will be lifted as they have already approached the Court of Arbitration for Sport to tender their appeal.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will have to pay the sum of £40 million to land the Ajax star who has impressed for the Dutch side this season and has been an important part of their success.
Done Deal!!! Chelsea have found a replacement for Cesar Azpilicueta
The West London outfit Chelsea seem to have found a replacement for their star player Cesar Azpilicueta in Reece James ahead of the coming season
The West London outfit have got a need for reinforcement in the right full back which seems to be a work done already with Reece James as you will be asked to return to the club.
Reece James is currently impressing in his loan spell with Wigan and has already been seen by the West London outfit to be ready for a first-team football at the Stamford Bridge.
Reece James is already attracting a number of interest from both English Premier League clubs and championship sides which would make it difficult for the West London outfit to be able to retain him at the club.
However, Reece James will come into the Stamford Bridge as a new signing in the next season knowing that Chelsea will not be allowed to register any player in the summer transfer window as a result of the transfer ban that has been handed to them.
Meanwhile, manager Maurizio Sarri has already hinted that a number of players would be asked to return to the club for the coming season
PSG not giving up on N’Golo Kante
The emerging report hints that French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain are back in full hunt for France international and Chelsea powerhouse N’Golo Kante in the summer transfer window.
The World Cup winner has been a major strength of the West London outfit Chelsea but the development at the Stamford Bridge which saw him lose his natural role to Jorginho sparked speculations that he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
the formal Leicester City man has therefore attracted a number of big interest from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
However, PSG seem to be more in the interest of the star player and are set to return with a bid that might be difficult for the Blues to reject.
Although, it is expected that the West London outfit will reject any offer for the star player as they will not be able to replace him as a result of the transfer ban on the club.
It is therefore yet to be seen if Chelsea at the end of the season will reject the offers from his country home as PSG seek to fulfill their Champions League dreams.
