Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has praised four stars for their contribution to their victory over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Red Devils continued their impressive form in the Premier League and Europe, with an emphatic win against their Russian opponents as they aim to make the knockout stages of the competition early on.
Goals from Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan ensured that United breezed past their European counterparts. But Mourinho believes that Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial were exceptional in their displays.
Speaking following their win over CSKA, Jose Mourinho said the win was vital for the players and team’s confidence after collecting six points from two games in the UEFA Champions League.
The Portuguese then went on to praise the likes of Smalling, Martial, Herrera and Lindelof for seeing off opposition from the Russian side despite not playing too many games this season.
Manchester United have been in an exceptional form this season, both in the Premier League and on the continent and the arrival of Nemanja Matic has brought the needed balance to the team, sparking talks that they might be up for the Premier League title this season with Manchester City to contend with early on in the current campaign.
