Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has slammed their heavy fixture list ahead of their clash with Manchester City next weekend.
The Blues went from a goal down to record a rare victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, defeating the Spanish giants two goals to one much to the dismay of the fans at the Vicente Calderon.
Despite his side’s stunning form against Atleti, Conte has complained about their fixture list as they get into the deep business of the current campaign. The Premier League champions are expected to clash with Manchester City on Saturday and the Italian boss believes his side is being short-changed with the schedule due to the fact that City have a one day extra of rest.
Speaking after their victory against Atletico Madrid, Conte said Chelsea is a bit penalised ahead of their clash with Manchester City who played their game at home a day before the Premier League champions, stressing that his side will probably arrive London by 4am from their trip to Spain.
The former Juventus boss also expressed his shock about playing on a Saturday, and not Sunday while insisting City are a really strong team, with the ability to score a lot of goals.
