Smith has been banned from attending the Oscars for ten years after he hit Rock with a slap during this year's ceremony.

The Academy has banned Smith from attending the Oscars or any other related events for a decade following his slap of Comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27.

"I accept and respect the Academy's decision," Will Smith said

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has accepted actor Will Smith's resignation.

President David Rubin said, "We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct in our next scheduled board meeting on April 18.”
