Elon Musk unveils the identity of Bitcoin's creator
The scientist Nick Szabo could be hiding behind the pseudonym of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto, a cryptography specialist, can be considered the creator of Bitcoin,
He disclosed the personality of the possible author of the idea during a conference on Lex Friedman's podcast, denying rumors that he was behind bitcoin.
According to Elon Musk, in 1998, the scientist invented an algorithm for a decentralized digital currency named "bit gold,"
which is the ancestor of bitcoin. Nonetheless, Szabo himself contradicts his interest in the development of cryptocurrency.
A few days before the podcast's release, information appeared on the network that the creator of bitcoin was Elon Musk.
This was said by his bygone employee Sahil Gupta.
"Look at the evolution of ideas before Bitcoin was launched. I don't recognize specifically who developed bitcoin for practical objectives.
Still, the evolution of ideas is quite obvious,"
Musk said—pointing out that it was Szabo who contributed significantly to the development of these ideas.
The indication that Musk created bitcoin was conveyed by prior SpaceX and Tesla employee Sahil Gupta.
He has been advocating this hypothesis for more than one year: back in 2017, a post appeared on his blog stating that Musk is Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin.
Then the businessman had already refuted Gupta's hypothesis on his Twitter.
However, at the end of December of this year, Gupta wrote another post.
He recounted a telephone conversation with Sam Teller, who dealt with personnel issues at the musk companies.
After the talk ended, I asked: "Is Elon satoshi?" There was a hush for 15 seconds, and then the teller answered: "Well, what can I utter?" this is not a retelling, he said.
Then I answered back, "wow," and there was an uncomfortable stillness. We said goodbye, and the conversation ended there."
The assumption that Szabo is behind the world's most prominent cryptocurrency has also been discussed for many years.
The name Satoshi Nakamoto is supposed to be hiding a group of programmers.
