Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan have agreed on a deal with Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella according to the latest reports emanating from the media in Italy.

Nicolo Barella is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders on the Italian football scene and he’s expected to leave Cagliari this summer amidst the interest from major European clubs like Arsenal, Juventus and Manchester United.

According to the publication from the stables of the Correire dello Sport, Inter Milan have agreed on a five-year contract with the player but they still have to negotiate a transfer fee with Cagliari.

Inter Milan are ready to offer £31m for Nicolo Barella though Cagliari won’t do a deal for him unless they receive £40m for him.

Antonio Conte has just been named the Inter Milan manager on a three-year deal said to be worth €30m and the former Chelsea boss is keen to bolster his squad for the new season.

The target for Conte and Inter Milan is to challenge Italian champions Juventus for the league title.

Juventus have won the last eight league titles and Inter Milan would love nothing more than to end their dominance.

Nicolo Barella is the second midfield target for Inter Milan after they were priced out of a move for their top midfield target, Donny Van Der Beek.
