Manchester United youngster Scott Mctominay who has been impressive since his debut earlier this season has finally chosen the country he would love to play for at the senior level.

The youngster is eligible to represent Scotland through his grandparents despite being born in England. It was earlier reported that the 21-year-old midfielder held talks with McLeish, Scotland national team coach, over the possibility of playing under his guide.

In the same vein, the youngster also met with England’s coach Southgate to discuss his international future with the manager but their discussions seem unsuccessful as the Times reports that he is willing to wear Scotland’s dark-blue jersey at England’s expense during the upcoming WorldCup in Russia.

The youngster is yet to feature in an international match for either of the two countries at any level but that could change on the 23rd of this month as Scotland will be involved in an international friendly against Costa Rica.

Mctominay has featured in 15 matches for the Red Devils so far this season and he has been brilliant in all the matches. He seems to have created an understanding with Nemanja Matic at the centre of the pitch as the former Chelsea man praised him for his display.

Though he has declared his decision to play with Scotland, England still stand a chance to convince him to rescind his decision as he is yet to feature for McLeish side in a competitive match.
