South Coast club Bournemouth will have to fend off the interest of Premier League clubs for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

The 33-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in English football on the back of the breakdown in his contract talks with the Clarets.

Bournemouth have to face other Premier League clubs like Aston Villa and Watford who are also interested in the former Manchester United goalkeeper.

Tom Heaton has one year left on his Burnley contract and the Clarets will have to decide on what to do with him in the event that the England international shot stopper doesn’t sign a new deal.

Burnley have to either sell him for a sizeable transfer fee or let him leave the club for nothing next summer.

Tom Heaton returned to the Burnley starting XI in the middle of the season after recovering from a long-term injury.

His return coincided with an upturn in form for the Clarets who had been struggling in the relegation zone on the Premier League table.

In the end, Burnley steered clear of the relegation zone at the end of the season buoyed by the form of Tom Heaton who has also returned to the Three Lions of England after the aforementioned injury.
