3 Players That Must Rise Up To Rescue Chelsea’s Season Apart From Eden Hazard

The Blues have been impressive of late but a dismal result against Everton has declined their effort in recent weeks. Though they lost 2-0 at Goodison Park it was (arguably) not the best outcome or the true reflection of the game for them. Chelsea dominated the match, had more shots on goal but it proved not to be their day and it was Everton’s night to remember.

This leaves Chelsea with three points off the top four (4) as the battle for Champions League place for next term continues.

With the situation and the need for the Blues to get sparkling again, we take a look at three players that must stand up and be counted for Maurizio Sarri’s side in the exception of Star duo Eden Hazard and William as the case may be.

Callum Hudson-Odoi (Attack)

The talented teenager (19 years of age) is proven to be an asset to the club as he will put in a superb shift for the Chelsea side.

He was a player that was not expected to have risen to this level by now but he’s proving many wrong as the press and media are beginning to talk about him. He scored against Dynamo Kiev and also have an
assist in the game.

If Chelsea is to do the needful to upstage rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, then Odoi must be called up (even from the start) as he was a threat to the Everton side when he came on from the bench
at the weekend.

Ross Barkley (Midfield)

The English talent received a round of applause as he left the pitch in the Everton defeat to (2-0) Chelsea. This was due to the player’s benevolence on the attacking side of the pitch during his stay at Everton.

Barkley’s quality is an advantage to the Blues as the player is sensational when in (full) match fitness. Antonio Conte and Chelsea signed the player from Everton even when he was undergoing a long injury lay-off.

This is a sign of his potential and how much he’s valued by the previous technical crew (manager) as he scored a couple of goals to aid Chelsea this season especially in the 0-4 defeat of Burnley earlier in the campaign at the Turf Moor.

David Luiz (Defense)

The Brazilian must improve very much defensively if the Blues are to meander their way into the top 4.

There is no doubt about the player’s quality as we have seen over the years; both at PSG and in Brazil’s National team.

However, the player needs a high level of focus and concentration at the back as this has been his major weakness.
