Tottenham Hotspur have concluded plans to increase their bid for AS Roma winger Cengiz Under just some few weeks before the start of the January transfer window.
The Daily Mirror say that Italian capital club Roma will only entertain a bid of around £45m for the Turkish international player.
Italian news outlet calciomercato had earlier stated that Tottenham Hotspur had a £30m bid rejected for the player.
It would be their first signing of the season after the North London failed to sign any player in the summer.
Cengiz Under has been in sensational form for AS Roma since he signed for the Italian capital club at the start of last season.
He joined the Italian Serie A giants last summer after they secured his transfer from Turkish side Bursaspor.
Roma paid an initial fee of €13.4m for the player.
His form for Roma has attracted the interest of several European clubs.
Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, European heavyweights like Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old.
It was revealed that Gunners’ scouts were in attendance on Sunday to watch Cengiz Under score a wonder goal for AS Roma in their 2-2 draw with fellow Champions League campaigners.
