Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez could be set for a new role at the club after his impact in the last league game against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday night.
Alexis came on as a second half substitute for England international striker Marcus Rashford before netting the winner on the stroke of full-time to give his side a 3-2 win.
He was utilised as a second striker alongside Romelu Lukaku rather than his customary wing position when he came on against Newcastle United.
According to Bleacher Report, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho may have finally arrived at a role where Alexis Sanchez can function well within his team.
He was very effective when performing the second striker role against the Magpies at the weekend and that could be his position in the team permanently starting from the Red Devils’ next game, a Premier League visit to Chelsea next week Saturday.
The new development could rescue Alexis Sanchez’ career at Manchester United after a largely anonymous nine months at the club.
He had scored just three times in the Red Devils’ colours before hitting the winner against Newcastle United.
Alexis Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal in January in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
