Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, is reportedly eyeing a return to the club should the current manager, Graham Potter, fail to turn things around. The Portuguese tactician at AS Roma has already identified two players he wants to sign for the Blues: Dani Ceballos and Ousmane Dembele.

Potter has come under fire following a disappointing run of results, with just four wins in his last 19 games across all competitions. Speculation is rife that the club may be looking to replace him soon, with Mourinho’s name in the frame.

If appointed for a third spell at Chelsea, Mourinho intends to pursue two major signings from La Liga, as he openly expresses his yearning to return to the club. He is reportedly keen on signing Barcelona winger Dembele, whose release clause is rumored to have been lowered to €25 million, and Real Madrid midfielder Ceballos.

Ceballos already has experience in the Premier League following his two-year loan spell with Chelsea’s London rivals, Arsenal. Mourinho is believed to be keen on adding more quality to Chelsea’s midfield should he eventually return.

Whether or not Mourinho gets his preferred transfer targets and returns to the hot seat at Stamford Bridge remains to be seen. However, his interest in the two La Liga stars has set tongues wagging in the football world, and fans will be eagerly watching to see what the future holds for Chelsea.
