The upcoming game from Ubisoft, Far Cry 6, is coming out, and it looks like an incredible experience. The chipmaker AMD showed off some of the technologies that made this title with a video showcasing how FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) provides substantial performance uplift in-game footage.

After all, it’s an AMD game, so the developers had to optimize its performance with Ryzen processors and Radeon graphics cards. The video was designed to show what FSR can do, but the real-time ray tracing and frame rate improvement showed that there is still more potential for even better graphics.

Without FSR, the AMD system could only deliver frame rates between 61.8 and 63. With it enabled, though, we see an increase up to 90 FPS! That’s a 46% improvement in performance.

It’s hard to say for sure if FSR can improve performance by 40% or more. However, there’s been a lot of positive feedback about AMD FSR, both from developers and those who’ve tried it out. You should still see an improvement.

This year’s highly anticipated and demanding AAA release (Far Cry 6) will provide an excellent opportunity to see how well AMD’s FSR technology fares. The game is set to release on October 7.
