Renders of the iPad mini 6 have recently surfaced, which gives us an idea of what to expect from Apple’s new tablet. The big question on everyone’s mind is whether or not this will be enough for them to stand out in the market. Also, should we wait for it or not?
The most exciting change for the iPad mini 6 is the bigger screen size. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted a new iPad mini would have an 8.5 to 9-inch display, while recently it’s been predicted that it will feature 8.4 inches which are slightly bigger than the last iPad mini (5th Generation).
The iPad mini uses the Apple A12 Bionic which also powered the iPhone XS family of phones. In 2021, it’s slightly longer in the tooth now so we can expect an upgrade for this tablet soon!
Rumors of the next iPad Mini 6 indicate it will feature a processor and connectivity similar to Apple’s iPhone 12. If true, this device would measure the same thickness as its predecessor (the 5th-Gen). The tablet lacks Face ID support but predicts that there could be more than one variant with different screen sizes – Prosser had tipped on Twitter earlier.
In terms of features, rumors suggest that Apple’s upcoming iPad mini 6 may feature an A14 Bionic chipset and 5G connectivity like their flagship iPhones from last year; these processors power both models along with other devices such as iPad Air.
The rumors surrounding the next-gen mini-tablet have been conflicting. In 2020, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested that a device with an LED display would be announced late in the year while Ross Young CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants refuted these claims and said there was no chance for mini LEDs to appear on an iPad Mini 6 this year.
Now it seems like Mr. Young’s statements were more accurate as we all know now what will really happen!
Should you Wait for the iPad Mini 6?
The iPad mini 6 is set to be released soon. Here are the best reasons to wait for it and skip other options:
- There’s no need to buy an older model (iPad Mini) that will get discontinued when a new one comes out.
- The display size as well other features on this version of the Apple tablet seems to be improved, compared with earlier models.
However, the upcoming release of the Mini 6 isn’t worth waiting for unless you’re in dire need of buying another device right away because the iPad Mini sixth-generation might come later. In case you are seeking to buy an iPad, then I would recommend going for the iPad Air, as it has all the latest features and specs Apple is offering.
