Deadline reported that Apple TV+ is working on another movie project, “Ghosted,” starring Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson. The upcoming movie, according to Deadline Hollywood Daily will be directed by Dexter Fletcher (director of “Rocketman”) and produced by Skydance studios.
The script is written by the writers who wrote Deadpool films and Zombieland – Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese.
The Apple streaming service is bound to be pricey, but it’s also an aggressive plan by the company in its attempt to attract top talent for their growing feature division. This year alone they are filming Emancipation – a slave drama starring Will Smith and earlier this year filmed Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s period thriller that stars Leonardo DiCaprio.
Apple has been trying to get its hands on a few high-profile films in order to attract customers and make the new Apple TV+ platform more appealing.
Since filing her lawsuit against Disney, Scarlett Johansson has gone on to make two major deals with the studio. The first was joining Wes Anderson’s new untitled movie that is now shooting in Spain.
Evans has made a name for himself with his legal dramas, including Defending Jacob and the recently released The Gray Man. He’s also wrapped up an action thriller that will reunite him with his Avengers co-workers Joe and Anthony Russo called Blue Ruin.
Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, stars of the Avengers franchise, are teaming up again for Ghosted. The duo will star in an upcoming adventure movie project set up at Apple.
