Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly made a demand to the club to sign a new central defender as they are now being linked with the signature of Braga ace David Carmo.

The Red Devils have been linked with several names since the last summer transfer window as they are keen on a defender that will pair Harry Maguire at the back to be able to challenge for the title and secure consistent positive results.

The Last summer transfer window did not go as planned for the Red Devils as they did not land most of their target, including the top on their list- Jadon Sancho after the German Bundesliga club insisted on a fee of £108 million for his signature.

Man United also made attempt to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano but he signed a new deal with the club and decided to stay back while their Brazilian target Gabriel Magalhaes preferred a move to the North London outfit Arsenal.

With man United already conceding 14 goals in their first seven games of the new season and recording just one clean sheet, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made the signing of a central defender top priority and has reportedly made a request to the club for financial backing.
