EPL outfit Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might have returned to his goal scoring form as he finds the back of the net for the Gabon national team on Thursday.
The 31-year-old has been criticized for not scoring goals at the Emirates Stadium after going about five Premier League games without a goal, an unusual form for the former Borussia Dortmund forward.
With his invitation for the national assignment against Gambia, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored the winner in the game that ended 2-1 to progress in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Saint-Etienne star Denis Bouanga broke the deadlock at Stade de Franceville in the opening 10 minutes before Aubameyang doubled the lead with his goal in the 55th minute.

The goal makes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Gabon’s all-time top scorer with 36 goals. The win also elhelo to extend Gabon’s unbeaten run in Group D as they sit in the summit with seven points after three games. They are followed by Gambia with four points.
They lead the group with seven points after three matches while Gambia is second with four points.
Gabon will hope to continue their impressive form with the Arsenal star but more to that is the fact that he is hoped to pick up his form from the international break so as to help Mikel Arteta team to bounce back with wins again.
Also, the 31-year-old seems to have time out of club assignments to freshen up to have a new start entirely for the season’s challenge. Fans will not expect anything less from the former Borussia Dortmund player after watching him score about 20 goals in the last two seasons.
However, the Gabon international has the backing of the Spanish manager who has called on fans’ patience and support for the team’s captain as he assures that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be back to his best.
