France international, Anthony Martial is one of Man United’s best forwards but he has a lot to do to become the one Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can rely on as the goal scorer and leader.

Man United are yet to find a gaols corer that they can rely on, the reason why the move was made to bring in Edison Cavani from French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain.

Anthony Martial joined the Red Devils under Louis van Gaal in 2015, as one of the hottest attacking prospects in European football and has been shifted from the centre-forward position to the flank on several occasions until the coming of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils legend made his words clear that Anthony Martial will be played as a centre-forward and that seems to have worked well with former Monaco forward having the best goalscoring season of his career last year, scoring 23 goals in all competitions.

Daniel Feliciano, in his piece on 90mins, said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a striker to have a variety of qualities that can help become a lethal finisher like Edison Cavani.

He wrote “In his peak, he was widely considered to have some of the best movement in the game and was one of the most lethal finishers around.

“He scored all types of goals too. Whether he was running in behind, towering over defenders for a header or tapping them in from inside the six-yard box, he was always in the right place at the right time.

“That type of variation is exactly what Solskjaer has been demanding from his forwards since arriving.”

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that he has been having these practices with his strikers in order to get them to that level.

“We’re practising patterns every single week and when we get the players fit, I’m going to make Marcus and Anthony score those scruffy goals, as that’s what I did,” Solskjaer revealed last October.
