Former Man United defender Rio Ferdinand seems to be taking a dig at France international midfielder Paul Pogba by naming Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes as the Red Devils’ “talisman”.
Before now, the World Cup winner was the star player for the Red Devils before now and was hailed as the club’s most important player, no wonder the owners are reluctant to let him leave the club despite speculations.
Paul Pogba has not been in the best of form and has been relegated to bench roles by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer while Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes has been enjoying some good performance for the team.
Rio Ferdinand has talked up the importance of Bruno Fernandes in Manchester United’s 3-1 win at Everton in the Premier League by scoring two and setting up the other for the team.

Bruno Fernandes now boasts of five goals and three assists in seven Premier League games for Manchester United so far this season and Paul Pogba cannot boast of the same.
Impressed by what he has seen from the Portuguese playmaker in recent weeks, Rio Ferdinand in an interview on his YouTube channel said “The talisman, who I believe is now the leader at Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes, stepped up.
“When the time is most important, this guy stands up. He has 31 goal involvements in 33 games. That is outstanding. That is a crazy consistency which this team needs. For him to produce those numbers in a very inconsistent team says it all. “
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba is unhappy at Man United and that has been confirmed by France national team coach who wants the former Juventus player to pick up again. Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break with the hope of getting better as they sit 14th place on the log.
