On several occasions, Paul Pogba has been linked with Man United’s woes, either he plays or not and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has said that it Is not true.

Each time the Red Devils play a game and lose, the World Cup winner is usually blamed either not putting the right attitude or not giving the best performance and now that he has been not been having enough playing time, some have stated his absence on the pitch is affecting the team.

However, United legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink says Red Devils duo Fred and Scott McTominay are the major problems of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer team, insisting that the Red Devils will never challenge for a major title with the duo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made the decision to keep Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic on the bench to accommodate Fred and Scott McTominay, playing Juan Mata on the flank but the Red Devils legend noted that the team will always have problems going forward and at the back while they continue to pick the duo.

“They did play better after Everton’s 1-0. I just think that they have problems in the team,’ Hasselbaink told Premier League Productions

“They’ve got problems defensively and going forward. They’re not as good as they used to be. That’s normal because we’re expecting too much from Manchester United just because they’re Manchester United.

“That’s not a Manchester United team is it? Two defensive midfield players, going to Everton where you should have more attacking players on the pitch, especially Pogba.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal legend Ian Wright claimed the Norwegian manager decided to pick Fred and McTominay because they are more dependable than Pogba.

Howbeit, former player, Phil Neville argue that Paul Pogba is a very important player that should never be left on the bench. He added that the club cannot challenge for the title with his heavy presence on the bench.
